Do I need to live in Tampa to be a patient?

Not necessarily. While our first flagship care center will be coming to Tampa, Florida in 2020, we can also see patients virtually who are Florida residents.

Is it really just one single fee?

Yes, your membership is just one single fee per month. If you choose, you may also enroll in a Pathway which you can choose to pay in one single payment or installments.

Do I still need health insurance?

You do not need health insurance to join Clove Health. As of 2019, the Affordable Care Act no longer requires health insurance at the federal level. However, some states still require their citizens to have health insurance.

We also recommend that our members maintain some sort of health insurance or participate in a health cost-sharing program to reduce their liability in case of an emergency to catastrophic injury or illness.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, American Express, Master Card, Discover), direct bank withdraws, flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA). If you have health insurance, we can also provide you with the necessary documentation to submit for potential reimbursement.

Are there any long-term commitments?

Absolutely not. Just submit a 30 day notice to cancel by contacting us or using your member portal.

What is a health coach?

As a member of Clove Health, a health coach is a core provider within your care team. Alongside your physician, your health coach will help you identify blind spots that are preventing you from achieving your goals, provide support and accountability, help you navigate the plan created by you and your physician and ultimately help you reclaim control of your health.

What's included in my membership?

All of our memberships include a comprehensive suite of primary care services as annual well-being exams, sick visits, nutrition counseling, health coaching, chronic disease prevention and reversal protocols, in-office diagnostics (such as EKGs, urinalysis and rapid strep tests) and minor in-office procedures (such as wart excisions, biopsies, cyst removal, and ingrown nail removal). Your physician can also write prescriptions for medications and pharmaceutical-grade supplements, order blood tests, diagnostic imaging and coordinate care with specialist providers outside of our practice. You also receive access to our virtual and in-person community member groups. If you choose to enroll in a Pathway, you will also receive exclusive access to a fun and engaging 12 week online course with videos, worksheets, recipes, menus, shopping lists, checklists and other resources.

Further, you will receive priority access to your care team, view all of your medical records, and schedule same or next-day appointments in your member portal.

What if I need tests or blood tests?

Your Clove Health physician can order diagnostic tests and blood work just like any other doctor. If you have insurance, you can go to any lab you’d like. If you do not have insurance, you can receive up to 90% off the standard cost of lab tests by utilizing our network of partner labs and imaging centers. Note that advanced and specialty lab tests may not be covered by insurance or be available at a discount.

Neither Clove Health or our providers receive any form of financial compensation for the tests and diagnostic imaging that we order. As a patient, you pay the discounted fee directly to the diagnostic provider — not us.

What is the Community Advisory Council?

The Community Advisory Council (CAC) is a board of change-makers in the Tampa Bay area who are committed to empowering, educating, and eradicating disease within our community. Members of the CAC include a randomly selected group of our patients, local influencers and business leaders, local government officials and administrators and our company leadership.

The CAC meets both in-person and virtually on a regular basis to discuss key issues related to our health, well-being, environmental and social issues.
